JACOB REED JR.

Jacob Reed Jr. was a private in the revolutionary war.  His father, Jacob Reed Sr., was a Lieutenant Colonel in the revolutionary war and his brother, Philip Reed, was a captain.

Jacob Reed Jr. was born on 28 March 1762 in Hatfield, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, to Jacob Reed Sr. and Magdalena Leidy.

In about 1782, Jacob Jr. married Anna Maria Maurer in Hanover Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

In about 1813 Jacob Jr. and Anna moved to Sugar Creek, Stark, Ohio.

According to a will that Jacob made on 7 Nov 1843 in Sugar Creek, Stark, Ohio, Jacob and Anna had the following 8 children: Frederick, John, Andrew, Elizabeth, Magdaline, Catherine, Jacob and Mary.

In that will Jacob divides his land up equally between his children except his son, Jacob only received $50.  Perhaps that is because he gave his son land in another way?

His will can be found on line at http://jacobreedwill.blogspot.com
